First of all a reminder:
The pages in the ‘Defunct’ section
are going to be rewritten and it is important
to point out that a number of the buttons
on the pages for each of the leagues
will not function until this process has
been completed. You should be able to move through
the history pages for each competition without
any problem, many of these being shown in
the form of dates.
The Athenian League pages have now been rewritten and this section
is their new 'home', with the periods
covered being 1912-1952, 1952-1969 and 1969-1984.
The 1952-1969 page contains 'bonus links'
to pages on the Corinthian League 1945-1963 and the Delphian League 1951-1963. Both these leagues merged with the
Athenian League in 1963.
The Cheshire County League section has now been rewritten and has 3
pages – 1919-1940, 1945-1964 and 1964-1982.

The Lancashire Combination section has also been rewritten and has 5 pages – 1891-1909, 1909-1925, 1925-1951, 1951-1965, and
1965-1982.
By clicking on the Lancashire button, you’ll reach the first of
these.
The Midland League section has been rewritten with 3 pages - 1889-1925, 1925-1958 and 1958-1982.
By clicking on the Midland button, you’ll reach the first
of these.
The North Eastern League has 5 pages – 1906-1907, 1907-1915,
1919-1930, 1930-1946 and 1946-1964.
By clicking on the North Eastern button, you’ll reach the first of
these.
The Spartan League is now included in this section, with pages
for periods 1907-1934, 1934-1955, 1955-1983
and 1983-1997. For the years 1975-1987
this competition was called 'The London
spartan league'.
The Yorkshire League section has been rewritten with 3 pages - 1920-1953, 1953-1969 and 1969-1982.
By clicking on the Yorkshire button you’ll reach the first
of these.
At some point all the current pages for these
leagues will be replaced by rewritten, updated
pages which will be fewer in number and will
therefore create space on the site for new
items. When this happens this page will be
altered to acknowledge the fact.
