THE BIRMINGHAM & DISTRICT LEAGUE 1939-1942
Unlike most leagues in the country, the Birmingham
& District continued to operate at the
start of World War Two. Although membership of the competition
was a little different and the league remained
a ‘small affair’, three campaigns
were, more or less, completed.
The information below was provided by Philip
Pike originally and was passed to the site
by Ronald Price. Many thanks, Ron.

Birmingham Reserves withdrew from the competition
during the season and the team’s record
was deleted.
1941-1942
Unfortunately the table does not balance
and it is not possible to carry out a thorough
check to discover where the mistakes are. It seems probable that the finishing
order is (somewhere near) correct.

Two games were left unplayed. Aston Villa, who fielded their first
team in the Birmingham & District League,
also won the League Cup and Keys Cup competitions.
